Kaiser Structural Engineering, Inc. is a full-service structural engineering firm specializing in forensic structural engineering, expert witness, and state-of-the-art structural strengthening and repair. The company was established in 2003 by Richard Kaiser, Ph.D., P.E. with the goal of providing unparalleled personalized and professional structural engineering services to our clients. Additionally, we offer consulting services for stabilization and repair of existing unstable foundation systems using underpinning piles.
Our clients include architects, engineers, contractors, lawyers, lenders, realtors, insurance agencies, municipalities, and the general public. Our goal is to provide complete, accurate, safe, and cost-effective solutions to your individual structural engineering needs. Inherently, we understand that our timely response is critical to your continued success.
Dr. Kaiser has been licensed as a professional structural engineer since 1999. He is a registered Structural Engineer in the states of Arizona, Nevada, and Louisiana and a registered Civil Engineer in the state of California. His broad experience includes designing a wide variety of commercial, educational, municipal, and residential structures. He is an expert in structural strengthening and repairs of structurally deficient structures. The techniques he uses include high-strength, lightweight carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites as well as proprietary foundation underpinning piles, which include structural steel pipe piles and micropiles. Both pile types can also be used in new construction, where challenging soil profiles and/or field conditions exist.
Dr. Kaiser earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from the University of Arizona, studying CFRP composites for structural strengthening or repair of existing construction as well as for use in new construction. Dr. Kaiser's research on CFRP for use in strengthening reinforced concrete was instrumental in developing this amazing new technology for implementation into the model building code.
